Got yourself a rock band?

Think you have what it takes to blow the minds of a few thousand hard core Rock&Roll Fans
Then you need to enter the first annual Rock Off up at Rockin’ the Fields of Minnedosa on Thursday July 31st.

August long weekend in Minnedosa is the place for Rockin’ the Fields. Primarily a classic rock experience with bands like Kim Mitchell, April Wine, 54-40 and Nazareth, we have also been bringing in newer acts as headliners – including Wide Mouth Mason, The Trews and Grady. We have showcased newer up and coming acts featuring classic and current covers to original tunes. We are a music event, as long as it rocks we like it.

Rules

Entry
- Rock Off is open to all unsigned independent bands. To be a part of this, bands will submit a video or audio demo of at least two songs along with an entry fee of $50 (returned if the band is not selected to compete). Songs may be covers or originals. All are to be sent to:

Attention – Rock Off

- If your submission contains more than two songs, let us know which two you wish to have considered.
- Submissions remain the property of RFM and will not be returned.
- The deadline for receipt of entries is April 30th, 2008.

Selection
- An independent committee has been selected to meet and review the demos.
- Nine bands will be selected and invited to perform on Thursday, July 31, 2008.
- Bands not selected will be advised and have the entry fee returned.

Judging
- There will be three identified judges as well as three hidden judges, none of the judges are associated with RFM
- Judging will be based upon originality and interpretation, presentation and stage presence.

Contest proper
- In order to accommodate all bands, we will utilize both the main and secondary stages.
- Order of the bands and stage selection will be by way of a random draw before the competition starts.
- At least one rep from each band will be present at the drawing.
- Each band will be allowed a 30 minute set.
- Winners will be announced Thursday following the show by Jerry Doucette.

Prizes
- All selected bands will receive a pair of weekend passes with member’s deck access for each band member as well as camping for the weekend.
- The winner of Rock Off will be paid to open for Honeymoon Suite on our main stage Saturday night, receive a recording package from Faders music in Brandon, and additional prizes to be announced.
- Second and Third place winners will be given a paid set on the main stage at some point over the weekend.
- Fourth, fifth and sixth place winners will be given a set on the second stage at some point during the weekend.
